A habit report built from your own trade file. Coming soon.

It will measure behaviour in your own past trades, like holding losing trades longer than winning ones, and test whether each pattern is more than noise. It will not tell you what to trade.

What it is being built to measure

Five habits, each measured in your own closed trades. These describe the report as it is being built; the final list is published before anyone pays.

HabitThe question about your own trades
Hold gapDid you hold losing trades longer than winning ones?
Re-entry after a lossDid trades opened within 15 minutes of a loss turn out differently from the rest?
Size after a lossWas the trade after a loss larger than the trade after a win?
Trading after a losing runDid trades after two or more losses in a row turn out differently?
Unusually large lossesHow many losses were more than twice your typical loss, and what share of your losses they made up (described, not tested)

Each tested habit gets one of three results: “distinguishable from noise”, “not distinguishable from noise”, or “not enough trades to tell” when either of the two groups it compares has fewer than 30 trades. Each test compares trades from the same days with each other. Dollar figures are historical totals from your file, such as “trades matching this pattern totalled −$X”. They describe what happened; they do not show that a habit caused a result.

Your file, and what is sent

  • Files: the MetaTrader 5 or 4 history report, an Interactive Brokers Flex Query, a Tradovate orders export (all three in beta until a real export confirms the columns), or the donttrade CSV template.
  • The free tools open your file in your browser. Those pages block outgoing requests, so the file is not uploaded.
  • For the paid report, your browser will send our server only stripped trade numbers: open and close times, buy or sell, relative size, the realised result and a random symbol number. No name, account number or ticker is sent, and the numbers are not stored. The exact list is published before launch.

The founding offer

$39 founding price for the first 100 buyers of the habit report, one time, in US dollars. It includes one re-test of the same account. A yearly habit tracker comes later, at $79 a year as its founding price; it is not sold until it exists.
